RCC and Partners Launch Multiple Opportunities for Climate Resilience Support
Resilient Cities Catalyst has recently launched three different calls for proposals, pilots, and letters of intent for funding opportunities in the climate resilience space. These efforts will catalyze resilience project advancement across the US and beyond and include:
Program: California Resilience Implementation Accelerator
Opportunity: Call for Resilience Projects
The Accelerator’s open call for proposals, launched by RCC, California Forward, and Climate Resolve, is designed to move high-impact, community-driven climate adaptation projects from planning toward implementation through seed funding grants, tailored technical assistance, and connections to aligned capital. This could include project design, permitting and compliance strategies, partnership development, community engagement, implementation funding strategies, and preparation for fundraising and project pitches. The goal is to advance promising, place-based multi-benefit resilience solutions while generating replicable models that can be scaled across California’s most climate-vulnerable communities.
Deadline: The Accelerator will be accepting applications through April 1, with selected projects announced in mid-May.
Program: Resilience Districts Incubator
Opportunity: Call for Pilots
Through the Incubator, California Forward and Resilient Cities Catalyst will work with local and regional governments and partners like the Connecticut Green Bank to assess whether a Resilience District can work for their community, and, if so, to design and implement it in a way that reflects local priorities, reduces risk, and supports long-term fiscal stability and insurability. Participating communities will have the opportunity to compare Resilience Districts with other models to determine the best path to unlock sustained investment in resilience.
Deadline: Communities interested in participating are invited to submit a Statement of Intent describing their local priorities, context, and interest in the Resilience District Incubator. Selected communities will be invited to participate in follow-up conversations with the Incubator team to discuss goals, capacity, and mutual fit. Statements of Intent received by February 20 will receive priority consideration. Forms received after the priority deadline will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.
Program: Binational Resilience Initiative
Opportunity: Call for Submissions for the 2026 Grant Cycle
San Diego Foundation, the International Community Foundation, Resilient Cities Catalyst and the San Diego Regional Climate Collaborative are excited to announce that the Binational Resilience Initiative (BRI) 2026 grant cycle will support projects that help build the resilience of the Cali-Baja region, including water resilience projects that focus on the Tijuana River watershed and will award funding to nonprofit organizations in Mexico and the U.S. that are working to expand binational climate collaboration, advance coastal/marine and water resilience from an integrated, regional approach, and provide capacity-building support to organizations working to increase our communities’ coastal/marine and water resilience.
Deadline: The 2026 cycle opens on March 2 for Letters of Intent (LOI) submissions and selected applications will be invited to submit a full proposal in May.
